Sodium Borohydride and Essential Oils as Reducing Agents for the Chemically and Green Synthesis of Silver Nanoparticles: A Comparative Analysis

Silver nanoparticles (Ag-NPs) have gained immense attention among the variety of metallic during past decades. In addition to distinctive optical and electrical properties, Ag-NPs been particularly employed for their biocidal features in industrial products, especially biomedicine. Despite wide range studies applications Ag-NPs, yet serious limitations remained unsolved such as environmental toxicity caused by reaction byproducts. present study, synthesized chemical synthesis well green method a safer alternative considered environmentally friendly, cost effective easy-to-handle. Sodium borohydride (NaBH4) natural essential oils originating from rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis) grape seed (Vitis Vinifera) used synthetic bio-reducing agents, respectively. An ultraviolet-visible (UV-Vis) X-ray Diffraction (XRD) spectroscopy analysis were performed, providing an insight into composition Ag-NPs. Ultimately, antimicrobial activity was tested on gram-negative bacterium, Escherichia coli (E. coli). The results revealed that can be sustainable with usage seed, resultant exhibit enhanced compared ones reduction method.
